![]() Description: Indonesia consists of a 5000 kilometer long archipelago with over 15 thousand islands. With access to the South-China Sea, the Celebes Sea, the Indian Ocean and the Pacific Ocean, the country has some of the most diverse coral reefs on the planet but also sits on a seismically active area known as the "Ring of Fire". Indonesia has some accessible islands but is mostly composed of more remote islands.
![]() Season: In general Indonesia has two yearly seasons with the dry season running from May through September and the rainy season from November through March. Exception are the Moluccas (Maluku) where seasons are reversed. Diving: The underwater world around Indonesia is a diver’s paradise. It is home to over a quarter of the fish species found on earth (3000) and 450 species of coral. Unfortunately some areas have suffered from dynamite fishing and pollution, but making up for this are the large number of sites that remain pristine. There is dives for everyone, from steep coral walls around Bunaken to muck diving in Lembeh, from a selection of wrecks in Bali to current-swept sea mounts around Komodo. |
